Designers and creative entrepreneurs everywhere are invited to submit creative solutions to address the climate crisis and accelerate the transition to a fair and circular future. SELECTION CRITERIA

We will evaluate all submissions according to four key criteria: impact, design and creativity, feasibility and scalability, and the strength of your team and network. Our selection process begins with an online review by an international selection committee, and ends with in-video interviews with the international jury and the WDCD team.

IMPACT

IMPACT

How does your project generate a positive social, environmental and cultural impact? Does it, for example, have an environmental impact by reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions or regenerating natural resources? Or are you working to create a positive cultural impact by influencing policy or shifting people’s habits and attitudes? Here, you can help the jury understand the (potential) impact of your project by offering some quantitative and / or qualitative data to back up your vision.

DESIGN AND CREATIVITY

DESIGN AND CREATIVITY

We believe design is more than a medium of aesthetics and desirability. Here, we want to know the role that it plays in your project. What design decisions have you made to make your product, campaign, system, space or service more circular? How is your solution fresh and innovative? Or does it build on an existing idea in an exciting way? Does it tell a well-crafted, compelling story that’s worth sharing?

FEASIBILITY & SCALABILITY

FEASIBILITY & SCALABILITY

This challenge is open to projects of various stages, from early concepts to market-ready initiatives. Wherever your idea begins, we want to know how it can be scaled to create real-world impact. It should be practical and technically -sound, while also making social and economic sense. Even if it starts in a specific context, we want to know: how could it grow and adapt to a broader audience? Do you have a long-term vision for your initiative?

TEAM & NETWORK

TEAM & NETWORK

You can apply as a team, as a collective, as an existing business or as an individual. In this criterion, we assess the depth and diversity of your skills and experiences and your efforts to build connections within your network. We are curious to know how you’ve built your team, if you’ve harnessed diverse expertise to empower your solutions, and how you approach collaboration and community-building as part of your development.

Do you have a creative climate solution?
