Long description

Aisha is a 23 year old internally displaced single mother who resides in Bamendakwe-a crisis hit community in Mezam. On October 1, 2020, at about 7:15pm, Aisha lost her 22days old twins in a fire accident that was caused by a locally made kerosene lamp which she used to light up the room where her babies slept while she fetched water from a nearby stream. Aisha lost not only her babies but her home and livelihood.

This project therefore seeks to provide alternative livelihoods and contribute to a green transition in rebuilding crisis-torn communities in Mezam division of Cameroon by empowering 30 crisis-affected youths aged 18-35 (60% females, 40% male) through hands-on training in solar energy installation and maintenance. The project will be implemented in four rural communities and includes activities such as beneficiary identification, baseline surveys, solar skills training, job/internship placements, mentorship, and advocacy campaigns for a green transition.
