Cantin emerges as a critical response to the influences of consumerism and technological overload, reflecting an approach aimed at promoting creativity, collaboration and deceleration in childhood. The play-oriented children’s furniture has three components: 3D-printed interlocking modules, wooden broom handles and fabrics that compose the assemblies. Providing children autonomy, the furniture allows them to explore their imagination and creativity in a collective and safe way, since the entire construction of the toy is based on fittings that work like a large puzzle. The Cantin is very easy to maintain, as the modules are durable and the broom handles and fabrics can be easily replaced with materials that would otherwise be discarded.
