Experimentation laboratory for the creation of architectural coatings made with plastic waste

Long description

This laboratory was born in 2018 when an Interior Design teacher saw the opportunity to transform waste into interior solutions by applying the circular economy in design. However, the initiative gained strength when, in 2023, with the participation of students and thanks to the alliance with a plastic recycling company, viable products beyond the academic exercise began to be developed. It is there that the potential of plastic as a raw material for making architectural coatings is identified and a process of experimentation begins with the different types of plastic waste commonly found in the environment (bottles, lids, packaging), generating innovative and attractive design proposals for floors and walls.
