Worldwide, around  2.25 billion cups of coffee are consumed daily. Besides a tasty experience, this also creates lots of waste. Coffee grounds alone contribute about 20 million kg of valuable material that usually ends up in the ordinary waste. What a shame! We believe that the look and feel of coffee makes its waste streams the perfect role model to create awareness for the value of waste and to showcase bio-based design possibilities. 

Therefore, Coffee Based started the Coffee Recycle Service. An easy to implement service that empowers companies in the Netherlands to responsibly dispose of their coffee grounds. We make the recycling of this material valuable for them by transforming their coffee grounds into useful products (eg. coffee cups, notebooks, serving trays) that get back to them. Our service reduces waste and provides a tangible and inspiring experience of the circular economy.
