Cleaning practices for a deeper understanding of embodied sustainability, fostering a holistic worldview.
Long description
Fostering a deep sense of collective stewardship, solidarity, and care for people and the planet has never been more critical in times of environmental degradation and systemic injustice.
Our approach, therefore, explores the potential of design to encourage and cultivate caring attributes that foster sustainable behaviour.
Design research conducted in Japan led us to assume that cleaning, as embodied practice, can serve as a vehicle for encouraging essential caring attributes, including responsibility and interconnectivity.
Based on these findings, we developed conceptual design pieces and workshop formats to promote cleaning as a mental training program. The workshops are designed to guide participants through a four-week online (private) training program or an on-ground company workshop.
