Long description

The Dublin Sourdough Rotation is an urban food-sharing programme connecting communities around a common theme – bread. Through kindness, sharing and mutual support, people are learning new skills, gaining confidence and creating more connected and self-sufficient neighbourhoods

Rotations happen 10 times per year and last 4 weeks. If you join a rotation, you’ll be placed in a pod of 4 people (essentially a sharing circle) with whom you bake and receive bread for and from. During a rotation, 2 people bake in weeks 1 and 3 and the others bake in weeks 2 and 4. Bakers bake 2 loaves of sourdough bread – one for a non-baker that week and 1 to keep for themselves.

5 times per year we run challenge bakes where pods of bakers meet to taste and score each other’s bread! These are themed bakes to encourage bakers to try new recipes, techniques and flavours.
