Farming in small spaces

We use eco friendly gardening systems to convert small spaces in urban areas into gardens to ensure urban dwellers access vegetables easily.

Long description

With the continued increasing population in Kenya, Farmers have resulted into unconventional means of farming such as using excess inorganic fertilizers and pesticides and also sewer waste to grow vegetables. This has led to  creation of a fear among urban dwellers on the vegetables they are consuming. To solve this problem, urban dwellers have decided to convert their small spaces into gardens using hydroponic gardening systems, gunny bags and containers. These gardening systems, tend to be expensive and the maintenance is an issue especially the hydroponics, for the containers and gunny bags, they tend to break down after several months and they reintroduce plastics to the environment which is not okay. To solve this problem, we have introduced gardening systems made from an Eco friendly fabric. The designs are raised beds,  grow bags and vertical gardens. So far we have managed to reach over 120 households from July 2023.
