Eco Nasi upcycles pineapple pulp waste into premium, cruelty-free vegan leather that fully biodegrades within 180 days.

Long description

Eco Nasi is an innovative materials science company based in Nairobi; Kenya redefining the materials of the future, by upcycling pineapple pulp waste into premium vegan leather. At Eco Nasi we are more than just a materials startup; we are a catalyst for change. Our innovation lies in the use of pineapple pulp waste as a sustainable waste resource to create premium, high quality vegan leather that is sustainable and takes 180 days to fully decompose without leaving behind harmful microplastics or polluting the environment. Pineapple is a widely consumed fruit, and its by-products, the leaves and pulp usually go to waste. However, we discovered that these leaves and pulp contain strong naturalĀ  fibers suitable for manufacturing vegan leather. By harnessing the potential of pineapple crop waste we are not only reducing agricultural waste but also minimizing the need for harmful chemicals like chromium which is harmful to the environment.
