Long description

Bulky waste lying around in public spaces in Berlin was used as a source of material to draw attention to the potential and value of used materials. Objects and materials discarded in public are in a state of limbo between worthless and valuable.
In the linear economic system in which we live in Germany, products usually end up in the bin at the end of their useful life. Materials and resources are lost instead of continuing to circulate in the cycle.

The work tells an exemplary story of how something seemingly worthless is transferred into something valuable. Seven individual objects were created from the randomly found materials (found objects). The redesign reinterprets and continues the history of the materials. The objects are designed according to the D.I.Y. (Do It Yourself) principle, they are intended to inspire and encourage people to build them themselves.
