Jugošik creates custom-made lamps and lighting solutions by reusing elements of discarded vintage chandeliers. Nowadays, during apartment renovations, old lamps dating back to the 60s and 70s are often replaced due to their age and dysfunctionality, with the majority of them ending up on scrap heaps. Jugošik upcycles them using an innovative circular design approach. Instead of restoring lamps to their original state, it disassembles them and creates a library of still-usable components. Single elements, each made from different materials such as glass, metal, wood, and ceramic, suddenly become an inspiration and the main resource to mix and match new designs. Upcycled lamps not only diminish waste by keeping products longer in use but also weave together narratives of personal and collective memories carried within revived lamps.
