Long description

In our project, we implement a unique approach to upcycling plastic waste by employing traditional counted thread embroidery techniques native to the Jaisalmer region. First, we collect discarded plastic from the local environment, ensuring it’s clean and suitable for embroidery. Then, using specialized needles and threads, we meticulously embroider intricate designs over the plastic surfaces. This process not only transforms the plastic waste into visually stunning embroidered pieces but also adds durability and strength to the material. By combining innovation with tradition, we give new life to plastic waste, preventing it from ending up in landfills and contributing to environmental degradation.
