Visu is a tourism company operating in off-the-beaten-path Brazilian territories, like the Cariri Paraibano, a northeastern region marked by drought and poverty. Since 2017, it has been organizing expeditions for those interested not just in visiting places, but in deeply engaging with them. Experiencing diverse realities sensitizes and motivates individuals to address social and environmental challenges.
Local residents play a central role in these expeditions, as they have maintained a symbiotic relationship with natural resources for generations, contributing to cultural biodiversity. The project aims to leverage tourism-generated assets to support cultural preservation and territory conservation. It achieves this by identifying local leaders, fostering social entrepreneurship, and disseminating expedition methodologies to empower communities to operate their own itineraries.
