Long description

The primary objective of our project is to address the pervasive issue of plastic waste pollution in Nigeria while providing sustainable & circular materials for the global fashion industry. By repurposing plastic waste into buttons, Pneedles aims to mitigate environmental degradation, reduce plastic pollution, and contribute to the creation of a more sustainable fashion industry.

We leverage AI technology to optimize our collection of plastic waste from waste pickers, recycling centers, businesses, homes, etc; we then utilize our waste sorting robots to sort the plastic waste based on types and colors to enable quality processing – this helps save time & reduce errors during the sorting process thereby making our recycling more efficient. Afterwards, the sorted, cleaned & shredded plastic waste is recycled into buttons for the fashion industry.

By diverting plastic waste from landfills and oceans & creating buttons from them, we’re contribute to the reduction of pollution and the preservation of natural ecosystems whilst fostering a culture of sustainable design, consumption and production in the fashion industry.
