a project to create zero-waste items as a result of people's wardrobe reworking in order to deconstruct the consumption syndrome
Long description
After 12 years of working in the industry with upcycled materials, I faced a number of problems: how to use not only high-quality thrifted materials, but also very spoiled textiles? How to change the industry from the inside, stopping the speculation on sustainability? Why is the work of a designer so self-centered and is it possible to build an equality with “consumers” at the level of creation? The answer to these questions first came from a new compression technology that we invented together with the architect Dima Miheev in 2019. It allows not only to use worn-out textile materials, but also to combine incompatible textiles with each other. And with the full-scale invasion and the experience of refugee and nomadic life, I also developed the practice of social interaction, which aims people to interact with their wardrobes in order to deconstruct the consumption syndrome and create new forms of production
