According to the IEA, operations of buildings account for 30% of global final energy consumption. Reco Glass captures CO2 through air filters and turns them into glass. Other carbon capture systems consume a lot of energy. Reco Glass reduces the need for ventilation and therefore the energy usage of ventilation systems in buildings. Outdoors Reco Glass filters make use of natural wind, e.g. on ships, reducing the need for fans, which consume a lot of energy in other DAC. Uniquely, this filter uses a dry process, which is cheaper than other DAC, and is used to make low-carbon glass.
