Long description

The Freetown Innovation Lab is recycling all grades of plastic waste into low-carbon construction materials that are 40% cheaper and faster to build compared to cement materials. We also develop other products that solve social problems, such as bricks, tiles, roofs, furniture, and beds. We have introduced Sierra Leone’s first seamless plastic recycling industry by implementing a plastic collection system that buys plastic from consumers before it is discarded as waste. Additionally, we clean existing plastic out of rivers and off beaches, and implement systems that gather plastic on the ocean coast. Our goal is to turn plastic waste into consumer products, including construction materials and other items that positively impact society.
