Our contribution to the development of DSSC cells is the replacement of inorganic materials with organic materials from renewable sources. The purpose of this change is to try to replace materials that come from extractive industries. These types of materials unfortunately mean that photovoltaic energy, despite its advantages, also has a negative impact on the environment and promotes geopolitical inequality, due to the struggle for resources, or the rising market price of resources. In our study, we are looking for materials that can be easily substituted, grown, or built with little specialized technology. We based our technology primarily on dyes of natural origin (derived from flowers, vegetables, and fruits), which are relatively widely available.
