Long description

Stream is a research-based hybrid product from a new bio-material which tries to simulate a new model of design ecosystem. The aim of this research is to re-inventing cycles, material, and the process it self.

Mater Design Lab, through the STREAM project, processes liquid tofu waste from the home industry in Serandakan, Bantul into new alternative materials that can be used to make functional objects using a computational design process, using this approach able to analyze material characteristics to create innovative shapes and streamline the design-to-production process for customized designs. One of the results of the Stream Project is STREAM LIGHTING, a paper lighting feature that allows you to create complex shapes without structure through the automatically generated pattern technique so that three-dimensional objects can be formed from two-dimensional cut patterns. The basic material from STREAM LIGHTING itself can be composted back into the soil.
