Our first successfully developed product are wooden eyewear which has been in development for over 8 months.
For this project we are using waste and offcuts of wood from carpenters and wood workshops within our community, as our raw material , which would otherwise be discarded or burned as firewood. We process this undesirable pieces of wood into high quality eyewear with different models and sizes to fit anybody.
We decided on using this discarded material rather than purchase the wood to avoid creating any demand for wood and thereby, reduceĀ the environmental impact of extraction and transportation of it.
With this product, we’ve become the first eyewear manufacturers in Kenya and with a vision of offering alternative renewable raw materials for use in the optical industry.
We have envisioned to plant a tree for every sunglasses sold to offset our carbon footprint.
