We provide affordable solar-powered irrigation solutions to empower low-income farmers in arid regions, fostering sustainable agriculture.
Long description
SowPrecise Africa leads agricultural transformation in Kenya’s arid and semi-arid lands (ASALs) with SunRider, our solar-powered irrigation solution, offered through an innovative energy-as-a-service (EAAS) model.
The EAAS model operates similarly to Uber, enabling farmers to access SunRider without ownership burdens. Instead, they pay a nominal usage fee, with SowPrecise retaining ownership and responsibility.
With around 18 million farmers in Kenya’s ASALs, this shared ownership ensures equitable access to SunRider, unlocking cultivation opportunities.
SunRider harnesses solar energy, reducing CO2 emissions and costs, being 40% cheaper than diesel-powered alternatives. This affordability, coupled with reliable water access, mitigates land degradation, boosts crop yields, and enhances economic resilience.
We are redesigning agriculture for a sustainable and regenerative future, addressing food security, poverty alleviation, and climate resilience low income farmers in the arid regions in Kenya.
