Techre is transforming discarded technical textile cuttings into useful format, to maximize material usage and reduce use of new material.

Long description

Techre – remanufacturing technical textiles is a project addressing waste from tent and shade industries. Due to their complex structure, technical textiles are challenging to recycle, often leading to non-recycling practices. Techre repurposes production cuttings into reusable formats, applicable in the same industry for new products, and appealing in other sectors as well. As a composite material, it preserves most positive qualities of the original material while remaining robust. Initial formats include round profiles and panels, serving as building blocks in new designs or replacing certain semi-finished products currently made from virgin materials. Blocks are made using heat and pressure, extending the lifespan of high-quality material without adding new materials. Prototype products like pendant lamps and small tables demonstrate material characteristics.
