Of the environment, by the consumers, for sustainability

Watch the 1-minute pitch video

Long description

Priorities of neoliberal policies have strengthened the hold of corporates in the economy, favouring a blind eye from the state governments towards malpractices like planned obsolescence, which are notoriously responsible for making products built to fail, adding a load on sustainable consumption and fuelling consumerism. As these practices work for profit maximisation and boost the economy, governments and corporations act as allied forces, increasingly devolving responsibility to citizen-consumers for solving social, ethical, and sustainable problems. The need of the hour is to enable consumers to drive the cause of sustainability and ask the right questions to those in power. And as sustainability is a collective matter, harnessing individuals’ interests to this level usually requires a moral approach and appropriate instruments for organising individuals around which seamlessly aligns with the motive of this project.
