The webdocu (www.collectiefeigendom.nl) is an inspiration document as well as a manual, an archive and source for those interested in the concept of collective ownership and related themes like steward ownership, de-growth, rights for nature, regeneration and so on. We believe that a different approach to ‘owning’ things is needed in the transition to a world that is more healthy, fair and pleasant for everyone instead of the happy few. Collectively owning something means shared responsibility and (very important) it means that no-one can profit individually from selling his/her/their part.
Collective ownership is about caring for something together, about working from passion instead of a financial drive, its about collectivity and solidarity. And the nice thing about this (old) concept is that it can be applied to almost everything, from housing to bookstores, companies, nature, agricultural land, campsites and so on.
